Cola Claret

Cola Claret found her way into movement arts via a long, twisted path of adventure, discovery, music, and mysticism. She grew up running wild on beaches and through creeks; climbing trees, bridges, and everything in her path. Raised by a musician and a scientist, at an early age she unearthed a burning desire within to transform music into movement, and dove headfirst into the study of ballet, modern, tap, hip-hop, swing, and just about any form of dance she could sink her feet into.

After a healthy dose of studying and exploring the world, an acrobatic whim lead her to discover aerial arts, and with just one taste it quickly became her life’s work. Specializing in aerial hoop, Cola brings powerful presence and raw movement to the stage. Inspired by nature and the cyclical, interconnectedness of things, she strives to create work that links the human experience to the natural world around it. She is known for her dynamic spinning, graceful expression, and sharp technique.

In addition to lyra, Cola performs solo on aerial chains, static trapeze, aerial sling, and also shares the stage in doubles acts on hoop, loops, and trapeze. She performs regularly throughout the Bay Area and beyond, including Festival d’Avignon and Coachella Music Festival. She is honored to be co-director, choreographer, and featured performer with Cirque de la Luna, and has performed with The Do Lab, Le Cirque de Boheme, DAM Circus, Supernova Variety and Talent, House of Mab, Earth Circus Productions, The Dahlias, and others. She is currently teaching multiple disciplines at Inspiration Studios and loves to watch her students grow and help them discover their own unique styles. Constantly evolving, Cola is always curious and intrigued to see what twists lie in the path ahead.
